The material used in the Ultimate Aranami knives is called “Coreless steel”. VG-10 and VG-2 are laminated together like Damascus steel. Literally There is no core of steel as all layers are forged together. This technique makes the blade patterns remarkably clearer than on Damascus steel. Zanmai uses the “Ocean Wave” motif which comes from a traditional Japanese painting.

Ultimate Aranami knives come with Hamaguri (concave) edge, which is the ideal edge structure for cutting while providing true sharpness and blade strength. The combination of VG-10 steel with the Hamaguri is the best combination for kitchen knives. Because the edge is sharp, durable, and rust-resistant, the Ultimate Aranami knives are considered the ultimate kitchen knives

The handles of the Ultimate Aranami knives represent the highest-end quality handles. Truly unique with an octagonal handle, a bolster and a bottom cap, which are hardly ever seen among other knives in the market.
